Feature & Follow



Hello old and new followers! I was a little off last week with Parajunkee’s View Feature & Follow due to unavoidable issues. However, stand back bloggers…Here. I. Come! I hope you enjoy your visit to my blog. Feel free to poke around. My focus is Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy and even some Young Adult Fantasy (though I’ve not yet posted reviews for these). Be on the lookout towards the end of August for a review, giveaway and interview with Bree, half of the genius that is Moira Rogers.

Q: How have your reading habits changed since you were a teen? (or if you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?)

A: Took me a little thinking to come up with this. No, it hasn’t been that long, but I just don’t think about what I was into back then. I spent most of my time running track (well, jumping – hurdles, long jump and high jump), cheerleading (please don’t unfollow for this!) and helping with the building of our 3-story house (yea…it sucked). But, when I did find time to pick up a novel, I loved reading V.C. Andrews.

These days, I focus my reading on stories that have a kick ass lead chick that resonates with who I am..or, possibly, who I want to be. I love Patricia Briggs’s Mercy, Nancy Haddock’s Cesca, Chloe Neill’s Merit, Jeaniene Frost’s Cat and Rachel Vincent’s Faythe. Beyond their willingness to kick ass, they have such spunk they have me rolling on the floor! So…typically I’m now drawn to these types of novels. Does that answer the question?

    I've sadly never been able to get into V.C. Andrew's books. They've been recommended to me countless times, but I never seem to enjoy them as much as I should.

    I've never read anything by V.C. Andrews but perhaps I should! If you like kick-ass heroines you have got to read Vampire Academy. Now I know it's about vampires >eye roll< I know, buuuut Rose is like the badassest protagonist ever lol!

    VC Andrews was such a great read as a teen! I still sometimes pick up the ghostwritten books when I'm wanting something in that type of genre.

    JUst stopping by to say hello! I LOOOVED VC Andrews as a teen! I'm not ashamed to admit it either, LOL Flowers in the Attic is still one of my fav books. All her books were a guilty pleasure for me back in the day LOL I'm so disappointed that they've continued writing books in her name, and many readers have no idea it's not really her. (She's deceased). The couple I did read in the Orphans series, are nowhere near as good as her original books. I refuse to read the rest.

    Hehe-VC Andrews to a kickbutt heroine is a big change. I read a couple of her books, although I can't remember the titles now, and I just remember that many of the characters weren't very smart and there was a lot of twisted stuff.

    Hopping by to return the visit--I already follow. :-) Urban fantasy is an awesome genre preceisely because it has so many strong, capable lead characters. I love Rachel Vincent's work!
